Volunteers prepare and decorate the church for major liturgical celebrations.

Baptism Preparation

Baptisms are celebrated on specific Sundays at 12 Noon.  Parents should call the parish office to schedule a time for their child’s baptism and for the baptismal preparation.

Bereavement Team

Members assist as servers, lectors, and Ministers of Communion at funeral liturgies, offer hospitality to families at the time of death, and reach out to the relatives of a deceased loved one several times each year.

Book Club

Members gather monthly to discuss a book focusing on issues of faith and to reflect on their spiritual journeys.

Brick by Brick

Parishioners are invited to purchase ($100) a brick for the parish courtyard commemorating a family event or a deceased loved one.

Catholic Youth Organization

The CYO organizes basketball and cheerleading teams for boys and girls in grades 2 through 8; depending on interest in a particular year, a senior boy’s team is also organized.

Children’s Rosary Group

Young children and their parents (or grandparents) gather on Friday at 3:30 P.M. in the parish hall to learn to pray the Rosary.  Fun, engaging, hands-on activities bring the prayers and mysteries of the Rosary alive for children.

Church Cleaning Teams

Each week a team of volunteers cleans the church.  The teams rotate on a monthly schedule; team members choose a mutually convenient time.

Coffee and Donuts

Volunteers prepare coffee and donuts on the first Sunday of the month following the 10:30 A.M. Mass.

Corpus Christi Food Pantry/Assistance

Parishioners volunteer to help with the distribution of food at Corpus Christi; some parishioners take on responsibility for delivering to the pantry the food and personal items collected at Resurrection the last weekend of each month.

Eucharistic Adoration

The Eucharistic Adoration Chapel is open for quiet prayer Monday through Friday, from 6 A.M. until Midnight, and Sunday, from Noon until 9 P.M. Parishioners are invited to commit to a specific time in the chapel or to stop in as their schedules allow.

Volunteers spend time visiting our shut-ins and elderly parishioners in their homes or at area nursing homes.

Haiti: Our Lady of Grace

Resurrection supports a sister parish in Haiti, Our Lady of Grace, with a monthly collection and our daily prayers.

The Knights of Columbus is an organization of Catholic  men committed to serving the Church and their community.  The council meets the first Tuesday of each month.

Lenten Soup Suppers

On the Wednesday evenings of Lent parishioners (of all ages) are invited to gather for a simple meal of soup and bread and to hear a brief Lenten reflection.

Marguerite’s Place

Marguerite’s Place provides transitional housing for women and children in crisis. Parishioners support Marguerite’s Place with financial donations and an annual collection of needed items.

Marriage Preparation

Couples are asked to make arrangements at the parish office nine to twelve months before their wedding.  Weddings are scheduled on Saturdays at 1 P.M. or 6 P.M.  A member of the pastoral team works with the couple to complete the pre-marriage program.

Men’s Gathering

Participants gather on Saturday mornings for prayer, reflection and discussion.  The men offer support to each other as they faithfully live out their vocation as lay Catholic Christians.

Moms and their young children gather in the parish hall on Wednesday morning for conversation and playtime.

Music Ministry

Parish musicians bring the gift of song to our weekend Masses as cantors or members of the adult choir.  In  Advent the parish musicians prepare a program of music and prayer.

Parish Nurses

Parishioners who are licensed nurses staff a monthly blood pressure clinic at the parish.

Prayer Shawl Ministry

Participants gather on the first and third Thursdays of the month to pray and to knit or crochet shawls that will be given to the sick, the lonely, the elderly or anyone in need of a “prayerful hug.”

Religious Education Program

Classes are held for the children and young people from Kindergarten age through Confirmation preparation. Preparation for the Sacraments of Penance and the Eucharist takes place in grade 2; preparation for Confirmation begins in grade 9. The classes are taught by volunteer catechists.

Respect Life Activities/Awareness

The parish team works cooperatively with various deanery, diocesan and national Respect Life programs to provide our parishioners with ongoing information on all life issues.  A constant attitude of prayer for the dignity of all life is kept by our parishioners.

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

Facilitated by a team of parishioners, the RCIA process  of prayer, reflection and discussion is designed for those who are exploring the Catholic faith.

Rosary and Morning Prayer

A group of parishioners gather each weekday morning in the church to pray the Rosary at 6:55 A.M. and the Liturgy of the Hours at 7:30 A.M.

San Damiano Cross

Each weekend parishioners volunteer to take home a San Damiano cross (a replica of the same cross before which Francis of Assisi prayed) for a week at a time. Parishioners are encouraged to pray for two specific intentions: for faithfulness to God’s call to “build the church” — as priests and deacons, as religious men and women, as committed spouses and families, as dedicated single people — and for our parish mission projects.

Scripture Study for Women

Women of the parish are invited for Scripture study and reflection on a pre-announced schedule of Fridays at 12 Noon. Growing in their love for and understanding God’s Word, the women offer prayerful support to each other as they face the challenges of daily life.

Stamps for the Missions

Parishioners are encouraged to bring in their cancelled stamps (foreign and domestic).  The stamps are given to the Sisters of Holy Cross who sell them and use the proceeds to help support their missionary work overseas.

Sunday Rosary Prayer Group

The group gathers in the church on Sunday evenings at 6:30 P.M. for Scripture reading, intercessory prayer and the recitation of the Rosary.

Vacation Bible School

Children from age 4 to grade 5 are invited to participate in the week-long program usually held in mid-July. Adult and junior and senior high school volunteers staff the program.

Youth Group

The parish Youth Group includes Work Campers (including both youth and adults) who build community, pray, prepare and  help raisie funds to finance a week-long summer trip to a national Work Camp site, where the volunteers work on cleaning, painting and building projects for families and individuals in need.
